Sithonia peninsula, part of Northern Greece’s Halkidiki, is famous for its 100 sandy beaches. This fact makes choosing the top 10 beaches for the summer 2025 challenge! However, in this article (with the help of experienced Sithonia lovers), we will select the top 10 beaches you can enjoy this summer. So, let’s get started!
1. Sarti Beach
This small fishing village on the eastern side of Sithonia has become popular with tourists lately. It has about 1,500 people who live there all the time, but during the summer, it gets tens of thousands of visitors worldwide. One big reason why people love coming here is the awesome 3 km-long sandy beach along Sarti.
Sarti is overgrowing, but there are yet to be big resorts or hotels. So, during the busiest part of summer, it can get crowded for accommodation. We suggest booking a place to stay in Sarti ahead of time. You’ll find some great restaurants and taverns, and new ones pop up each year. In the evenings, the streets are lively with tourists, and there are open bars, sweet shops, and little souvenir stores.
Sometimes, Sarti gets big waves for a few days in the summer, which might be tricky if you have little kids. But on those days, you can explore other sandy beaches in Sithonia in protected coves.
The Sarti Beach has unique sunrises above the highest peak of Mount Athos, and this long beach is perfect for barefoot walks.
Overall, Sarti has one of the longest beaches in this part of Greece. It’s always ready to welcome new guests and those of us who keep coming back every year.

2. Nikiti Beach
Nikiti is the main municipality of Sithonia, located in the northwest part of the peninsula. This small town, with around 3000 permanent residents, goes about its life even outside the summer tourist season. Nikiti has a beautiful sandy beach that stretches for about 2.5 km. At the beginning of this beach, there are lots of restaurants and taverns, almost all of which have a beach bar area with sun loungers. But since the beach is long, you’ll always find a free spot. As you go further along the beach (southward), you reach parts that are less crowded with restaurants, allowing you to enjoy some privacy on the beach.
In recent years, Nikiti has gained a reputation as the best destination for a family vacation with small children, and it’s not without reason. In Nikiti, you have plenty of big supermarkets (Lidl, Masutis, etc.), many restaurants and taverns, and a perfect promenade on the beach that turns into a huge playground for the little ones in the evening.
If you’re planning a vacation with kids, make sure to book your accommodation in Nikiti Beach in advance, and let Nikiti be your anchor point for exploring Sithonia in 2025!

3. Trani Ammouda
If you ask tourists who have been to Sithonia several times to list their top 3 beaches, they will all include Trani Ammouda Beach in that list. This beautiful sandy beach, about 2 km long, is perfect for true lovers of crystal clear blue seas. It’s not yet one of the most crowded beaches in Sithonia, so there’s usually plenty of space. If it’s busy at the beginning, feel free to stroll further along the beach, and you’ll find a perfect spot for yourself. There are also several restaurants and beach bars with sun loungers, including one of the most popular ones in Sithonia, Le Mantri Beach Bar.
Trani Ammoudi doesn’t have natural shade, so if you don’t plan to use the loungers and umbrellas in restaurants or beach bars, bring your umbrella and sunscreen. From June to September, there’s a water aqua park for the little ones.
Trani Ammouda will captivate you with its clean turquoise sea and long, wide sandy beach, where you can enjoy the summer sun with your vacation crew. There are volleyball nets, and don’t forget to bring snorkeling gear!
Le Mantri, with its chill music in one corner of the beach, creates the perfect atmosphere for young people and those who feel young at heart, to dance with cocktails and enjoy the sunset on the beach from early afternoon.

4. Kavourotrypes (Orange Beach)
Kavourotrypes Beach is the most famous landmark of Sithonia. This beach is completely tucked away in an untouched pine forest, far from inhabited areas. Moreover, this beach is a unique combination of imposing rocky cliffs and incredibly turquoise blue seawater. On this beach, round large rocks enter the finest sandy shore, creating a watercolor of unreal blue. Nature has made this beach uniquely beautiful, and therefore, it attracts more and more tourists. Consequently, in the last few years, there may be crowds on this beach during the day, especially in the peak summer season. The beach itself consists of several smaller similar beaches: Mega Portokali, Paradise Kavourotripes Beach, and Orange Beach.
The nearest place to this beach is Sarti, so many tourists from Sarti and other places in Sithonia, eager for adventure in nature, come to this beautiful beach. Access is quite good, just about 300m on a sandy road from the main road. The turn-off is about 6 km from Sarti, in the direction towards Nikiti.
On the beach itself, there are a few beach bars with umbrellas, but our recommendation is still to bring your umbrella, sunscreen, and maybe even a mesh for lounging, which you can probably set up between two pines, or find your oasis on one of the peculiar rocks on this beach.
