Halkidiki Celebrates the Arrival of 2025 with Blessings and Traditions (PHOTO)

The Halkidiki Regional Unit welcomed the New Year with a series of festive events in Polygyros, marked by blessings from the Church and local officials.

On New Year’s morning, the first Divine Service of 2025 took place at the Sacred Metropolitan Church of Saint Nicholas in Polygyros, officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Nikolaos of Kassandreia. The service celebrated the arrival of the new year and was attended by local dignitaries.

Following the service, the traditional cutting of the New Year’s Vasilopita (cake) occurred at the Halkidiki Regional Unit Headquarters. Metropolitan Nikolaos blessed the cake, and Vice Governor Aikaterini Zografou cut it, extending heartfelt wishes for a prosperous and successful New Year to all attendees.

The event was attended by notable figures, including Halkidiki MP Giannis Giorgos, Polygyros Mayor Giorgos Emmanouil, President of the Halkidiki Hotel Association Grigoris Tassios, former Halkidiki Prefect Vasilis Vasilakis, and representatives of local authorities and organizations.
