In the very south of the Sithonia peninsula, still well hidden away from mass tourism, lies one of the most beautiful beaches in this part of Greece – the beach in the small fishing village of Porto Koufo.
Where is Porto Koufo Beach? How To Get There?
You can get to Porto Koufo beach either from Neos Marmaras or Sarti. It is 25 km from Neos Marmaras and is exactly the same as from Sarti.
Although at the very entrance of the Porto Koufo beach there is the Porto Koufo Hotel and several private accommodations, most of the beach is unorganized and perfect for a quiet vacation. The beach is narrow, the sand on the beach is very soft and the water is crystal clear, but you get to a greater depth quite quickly. This makes it perfect for fishing enthusiasts but asks for care when you are there with your kids.
Porto Koufo Beach is about 1 km long, and since there are not so many accommodation facilities nearby, it is generally not crowded. At the west end of the Porto Koufo beach is the small fishing village of Porto Koufo with fish tavernas and a pleasant beach bar, and at the east end is the Porto Koufo Hotel. Everything in between is an unorganized wild and beautiful long beach with soft sand and crystal clear water. To the east of the Porto Koufo Hotel is another smaller part of the beach, it is even more hidden.
