In Halkidiki, the Institute of Travel & Tourism (ITT) 2024 Hosts Premier Conference After 26 Years

Halkidiki, Greece – After a 26-year hiatus, the Institute of Travel & Tourism (ITT), the foremost conference in the travel industry, is returning to Greece, specifically to Halkidiki. The ITT conference represents the pinnacle of the travel sector, designed for ITT members and featuring prominent figures from the United Kingdom’s travel and tourism industry.

For the first time since its 1997 event in Athens, Halkidiki will open its arms to the English travel community, showcasing its breathtaking landscapes, azure waters, and rich cultural and culinary heritage as a backdrop for this iconic conference. From June 3rd to June 5th, 2024, over 350 members, comprising the cream of the English travel industry, will converge in Halkidiki for the annual conference, hosted at the Porto Carras hotel complex.

The conference, held in a different destination each year, allows its members to experience firsthand the hidden beauties and charm of these destinations.

For the first time, the Institute of Travel & Tourism (ITT) has announced a new initiative requiring participants to contribute financially to offset the conference’s carbon footprint as part of their commitment to improve ITT’s environmental impact as an organization and that of its members.

Mr. Grigoris Tassios, President of the Halkidiki Tourism Organization, expressed his excitement, stating, “Halkidiki has long been a hidden gem, and we are thrilled to host the Institute of Travel & Tourism conference after 26 years. This event reaffirms our commitment to promote Halkidiki as a premier travel destination and is a vote of confidence from the distinguished Institute.”

The hosting of the annual ITT Conference in Halkidiki presents an exceptional opportunity to showcase the destination to one of Europe’s largest tourism markets. Participants will have the chance to explore Halkidiki’s outstanding beauty through guided tours and cultural experiences, allowing them to connect and discover the charm of the destination.

The Halkidiki Tourism Organization extends warm thanks to Ms. Eleni Skarveli, Head of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) Office in the United Kingdom & Ireland, as well as the staff at the Porto Carras hotel complex for their exceptional collaboration, without which this agreement would not have been possible.
