In preparation for the upcoming tourist season 2024, the Emergency Medical Services (EKAB) in Thessaloniki are rolling out new initiatives to support their operations in Halkidiki. Christina Karampelidou, Director of EKAB Thessaloniki, shed light on these developments in an exclusive interview with Municipal Television of Thessaloniki-TV100.
Highlighting the growing need for adequate staffing, Karampelidou stressed the crucial role of human resources in ensuring prompt emergency response throughout the region.
Moreover, recent measures have been introduced to optimize EKAB’s efficiency in Thessaloniki, particularly in light of challenges posed by the ongoing construction of the Flyover (Ring Road). These initiatives aim to reduce disruptions to ambulance traffic, especially along the peripheral roadways.
Establishing a new operational base in Agios Pavlos, Thessaloniki, is significant, signaling EKAB’s commitment to expanding its reach and enhancing emergency services accessibility.
Furthermore, close collaboration between EKAB and the Traffic Department has been emphasized, facilitating fast incident response and seamless coordination in emergencies.
As Halkidiki gears up for the bustling summer season of 2024, EKAB’s proactive measures promise to fortify emergency response capabilities, ensuring the safety and well-being of both residents and visitors.
