Wow! The 53rd Toroneos Gulf Swim happened on Saturday, August 26th, in Nikiti. People swam a long way, and it was super impressive! 🏊♂️💪
On Saturday morning, the swimmers started their race after 7:00 AM from a Kallithea in Kassandra. And guess what? For 53 years, they’ve been finishing the race in Nikiti. It’s like a tradition! 🌅🏞️
Lots of famous swimmers joined the event this year. People of all ages came to see this big thing happening in Sithonia. It’s all about doing sports and being healthy! 🌟🌴
After the race, every swimmer got a special olive wreath, as a reward. And then, they had a fancy party to give awards to the winners. 🏆🎉
The fastest person this year was Mikel Arteaga from Spain. He finished the super-long swim in 7 hours, 38 minutes, and 7 seconds. Georgios Papadopoulos came second, finishing in 8 hours, 21 minutes, and 47 seconds. Georgios Marangos got third place at 8 hours, 54 minutes, and 57 seconds. And Attila Manyoki, who knows a lot about swimming, got fourth place with a time of 9 hours and 5 minutes. 🥇🥈🥉
Important people like the leader of the area, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, and the Mayor of Sithonia, Kyvarissis Demplas, were there too. It shows how everyone came together for this event. 🤝👏
