20-Year-Old Swimmer from Kalamata Wins 54th Crossing of Toroneos Gulf

Anastasios Athanasoulakis, a 20-year-old swimmer from Kalamata, achieved a remarkable victory by finishing first in the 54th Crossing of the Toroneos Gulf.

Anastasios Athanasoulakis showcased his exceptional swimming skills by completing the challenging course of the Toroneos Gulf in an impressive 5 hours and 52 minutes.

The race was not without its difficulties. Anastasios mentioned, “The race started very well for me, but in the last three kilometers, the wind picked up, and it became quite challenging.” Despite these obstacles, he emerged victorious, receiving a standing ovation from the crowd gathered on the beach of Nikiti.
