Spearheaded by the family-owned property management company STANTA SA, led by Stavros Andreadis, the project is currently under public consultation and seeks approval under Greece’s Strategic Investment Law.
The Diaporos Green Retreat aims to establish a five-star, energy-autonomous resort, featuring 13 single-story villas and 13 two-story bungalows, totaling 76 rooms. The resort will also include a central building with an outdoor pool, restaurants, a therapeutic spa, a gym, modern sports facilities, a children’s entertainment area, and a chapel.
Situated on the northeastern side of Diaporos Island in the “Korakia” area, the resort will be developed on a 97-acre coastal plot owned by the investor. With a projected budget of €41.7 million, STANTA is requesting approval for the project under the Special Spatial Development Plan for Strategic Investments, which allows for fast-track permits, including beachfront and coastline usage.
One of the most notable aspects of the Diaporos Green Retreat is that it will be Greece’s first energy-autonomous hotel. The island currently lacks energy infrastructure, so the resort will operate entirely off the grid, making it a unique and sustainable destination. Presently, the island has around 30 vacation homes, mostly used by their owners during the summer.
In addition to the Diaporos project, STANTA is working on another significant venture in Thessaloniki – the redevelopment of the former “Kerameia Allatini” site. This project will feature a 100-meter skyscraper and the creation of a public park, with renovated heritage buildings to be repurposed for cultural use.
With both developments, STANTA is poised to contribute to Greece’s growing reputation as a hub for sustainable luxury tourism and urban innovation.
