Exploring the Olive Route and Treasures of Halkidiki
From October 23rd to 25th, 2024, the Halkidiki Development Agency (ANETXA) is hosting a three-day event titled The Olive Route and the Treasures of Halkidiki.This event is part of the LOCAL TOUR Transnational Cooperation Project, funded by the LEADER CLLD Program under Measure 19 of the Rural Development Program 2014–2020. Participants will engage in educational activities, tours, and networking opportunities, highlighting Halkidiki’s rich cultural heritage and successful local initiatives
Day 1: Wednesday, October 23, 2024
Arrival and Welcome Dinner
- 20:00: Arrival and check-in at Philoxenia Hotel, Psakoudia
- 21:00: Welcome dinner at Despotes Restaurant, Nea Moudania
This informal gathering allows participants to settle in, relax, and begin connecting with fellow attendees ahead of the main event.
Day 2: Thursday, October 24, 2024
Morning: Opening Session and Presentations
- 09:30: Arrival at the Halkidiki Chamber of Commerce, Polygyros
- 10:00 – 11:30: Welcoming speeches and presentations:
- Overview of the Taste Halkidiki Traditional Cuisine Contest
- Presentation on Promoting the Treasures of Halkidiki
- I Am the Ambassador of My Land campaign
- 11:30: Coffee break
Afternoon: Exploring Local Landmarks
- 13:00: Guided tour of Aristotle’s Park in Stagira
- 14:30: Visit Stathoris Dairy, the first certified visitor-friendly cheese factory in Greece, located in Ierissos
- 16:00: Lunch at Platanorema Farm, Megali Panagia
- 18:00: Wine tasting and tour at Tarazas Winery, Megali Panagia
- 19:00: Return to Philoxenia Hotel, Psakoudia
Day 3: Friday, October 25, 2024
Morning: Educational and Experiential Activities
- 10:20 – 12:20: Honey-tasting and educational session at the Institute of Apiculture, Agios Mamas
- 12:30 – 14:00: Olive grove tour and olive oil tasting at the Periapton Olive Estate, Nea Olynthos
Afternoon: Cultural Exploration
- 14:30 – 15:30: Guided tour of the Petralona Cave, one of Greece’s most important anthropological and archaeological sites
